Taking my CompTIA Tech+ exam at Pearson VUE was a new experience. I chose an in-person testing center instead of online proctoring, just to avoid technical issues.
The check-in process was strict: ID check, locker for personal items, and a photo taken. Once inside, I had 60 minutes for 75 questions. My first was a performance-based question on setting up a network switch.
What made me feel comfortable was having done Tech+ practice tests under timed conditions. The interface at SkillTestPro looked very similar to Pearson VUE’s, so nothing felt foreign.
If you’re taking the exam:
- Arrive early – security checks take time.
- Practice timed mocks so the countdown doesn’t stress you out.
- Stay calm – review flagged questions at the end.
Walking out, I saw my score: 720/900. Relief. Preparation paid off.
