The database basics domain of CompTIA Tech+ caught me off guard I thought databases were only for programmers. On my exam, I saw at least 6 questions about normalization, SQL commands, and primary keys.
What saved me was practicing early with Tech+ practice tests. They forced me to learn why a relational database uses foreign keys and how queries are structured. For example, one practice question about SELECT statements was nearly identical to what I saw at Pearson VUE.
My advice:
- Don’t skip databases they make up a noticeable portion of the exam.
- Learn the difference between tables, rows, and fields.
- Practice queries, even if you’re not a coder.
Thanks to SkillTestPro, I didn’t just memorize I understood. And that gave me the confidence to tackle this domain on test day.
