I’ll be honest, sometimes reading textbooks put me to sleep. That’s where YouTube tutorials really helped with my Tech+ prep. I watched Professor Messer’s videos for networking and security, and combined them with practice on Tech+ practice tests.
One video explained port numbers in a way that finally clicked for me. When I then tested myself in SkillTestPro, I scored 90% on networking questions, a huge improvement.
My study formula:
- Watch a short YouTube video on a topic.
- Immediately reinforce it with practice questions.
- Repeat until the concepts stuck.
On exam day, I saw those exact topics, like DNS and firewalls, and knew them cold.
